Nice to meet you. My name is Kate Stanley, I’m a spatial & interior designer. 

I was raised in New Zealand where I completed my Bachelor of Design (Honours) at the College of Creative Arts, Massey University in Wellington.

From a young age, I loved painting, drawing, sculpting, and making things by hand. Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of creative mediums, photography, product design, graphic design, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, typography, sketching, and painting. Each one helped shape my understanding of form, texture, and storytelling.
It was during my time at Massey University that I discovered spatial design. Spatial practice allowed me to bring together everything I’d experimented with melding different techniques and materials into immersive experiences and environments. Spatial design gave me a way to create spaces that hold energy, evoke emotion, and tell their own stories. As I completed my studies and transitioned into professional practice, I began to specialise my design approach. I discovered a passion and a strength for distilling complex narratives into experiential journeys. 

 When translating these stories into physical spaces, I believe in embedding meaningful details from the narrative into the finer elements of the design. Thoughtful composition and considered design are essential in creating spaces that are not only visually compelling but also emotionally resonant.

Later in my career, I specialised in behavioural strategy for commercial interior spaces. I deepened my expertise in understanding the relationship between physical environments, atmospherics, and human behaviour. By analysing large volumes of both qualitative and quantitative data, I was able to identify meaningful correlations betweendesign elements and behavioural patternsinforming strategies that shape more intuitive, effective, and engaging spaces.

I’m currently seeking new opportunities to further develop my skills and advance my career. I’m driven by a passion for creating meaningful, immersive experiences, and I hope to join a team of exceptional creatives who are committed to pushing boundaries designing spaces and experiences that challenge convention, provoke emotion, and defy expectations. I'm excited by the idea of contributing to projects that are bothconceptually rich and deeply human.
