I worked on the ‘Mr Corman’ series production, in a short term contract role as a ‘consultant graphic designer’.
One of the key creative components of the show was the collaged scenes and settings. The entire show was shot in a greenscreen studio. Myself and the team of other graphic designers were tasked with creating frame by frame collaged landscapes and sets based off the creative direction
from the director and producer. It was important to the creative team that the collaged landscapes and sets had enough depth and accuracy to look cohesive with the filming overlayed, while maintaining a sense of surrealism. As a team we were tasked with sourcing high quality imagery that did not require licensing. Using photoshop we created sets and landscapes, once the backgrounds were approved by directors, we worked on frame by frame placement and movement in context with the collage. It was key to make sure there was continuity in the scenes as the camera panned.
